[00:00:18] Speaker A: Hello and welcome to interrogation, where guidance will always find you when you need it. I am your guide, Dusty. I use they he pronouns. And today I'm joined by someone whose voice, if you listen to me, you've probably heard before. And if you like good music, you probably should check them out. If you haven't checked them out. I don't know, they're. They're blushing because, like, they don't like to talk about themselves. I'm going to talk about them for them anyways. It's Amelia. Hi. [00:00:42] Speaker B: Swear to God. Hello. If you hear my voice, that, or if you recognize my voice, then you know me from the one thing I do. I am the co producer, composer, I suppose, and voice of Matcha on Bring your own mech. The Lancer AP that me and Dust Dusty are also on together. I always feel so bad about these because I do literally one show and I don't have any other interesting stuff to share. [00:01:12] Speaker A: Well, you do music, too? [00:01:14] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. I do the music for the show, which is good. [00:01:19] Speaker A: And you do like music jams or whatever. Or whatever. Not to minimize it, but you know. [00:01:25] Speaker B: What I mean that one time. And by the time this comes out, I will be announcing another album. But I can't share that right now. [00:01:33] Speaker A: But yes, Amelia. So like you said, we do bring your own mech together. Are we talking to someone from bring your own mech? [00:01:44] Speaker B: Yeah, we're talking to Matra. The call sign is mantra. Name? Nita. Full name. We discussed this beforehand. If you haven't caught up to BEOM yet, dear Elicitor, maybe go do that now, because you're going to get into very end levels. Spoilers of the current. Like, up to current. So if you don't want to be spoiled, you've been warned. But yes, I will be bringing Matcha today, who uses she her pronouns. As do I. I realized I didn't say that. I'm a really good guest. [00:02:20] Speaker A: You're great if you. Amelia, doesn't Nita have a full name? [00:02:26] Speaker B: Yeah. So Nita, which is also technically a codename. Her full Designation is experiment HA62 62 4601C7H 1N203. She is a clone for Harrison Armory's covert operations. We don't know the exact nature of her clone hood yet, but we do know that something did go wrong in the. I'm not about to say birthing, but I don't really know what else to call it for a clone awakening process. Where she Kingdom hearts. [00:03:06] Speaker A: I see. [00:03:06] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Where she awakened with not fully formed. I don't necessarily know how to describe it, but she is missing her right arm. And since Harrison armor. Oh, God. I have to explain Lancer lore. If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about. [00:03:28] Speaker A: We. [00:03:28] Speaker B: This is really well organized me. [00:03:32] Speaker A: To be fair, It's a lot like Lancer lore is a lot. It's a lot of good stuff. [00:03:36] Speaker B: But generally, essentially, Harrison Armory think America, modern America, even more authoritarian, even more capitalist technically, despite being in the far future where everything's, like, weirdly communist. We don't need to discuss that right now. But Harrison Armory is essentially that equivalent. And their home planet is Ra's Shimra, which is where Matcha is from. [00:04:10] Speaker A: As Matcha's journey been so far, we've already said there's going to be spoilers for bring your own mechanism. Now we're talking spoilers. [00:04:19] Speaker B: She's had a rough time, dude. Not okay. [00:04:22] Speaker A: I think our whole group has had a rough time. [00:04:26] Speaker B: I mean, from the, like, the beginning of the show, she just kind of like walks away from Harrison Armory because she wants to explore the galaxy a bit more. Because technically she's only like 3 years old in clone years. So she's been shot at, stabbed, exploded slightly stabbed by her alternate dimension self, Shot and stabbed by her alternate real life self of other clones that kind of look vaguely similar to her, but bigger. Already said shot at, stabbed at. You know, had her identity shaken by multiple things. Have been portrayed by the person that she thought was one of her closest friends. Actually one of her closest friend's sister in disguise as the close friend is slowly watching her other friend's health deteriorate to the point that she's probably gonna die. Saw that person that she thought betrayed her in the group turn out to be a lot more similar to her. Oops. Also betray everyone again by killing other friend's uncle in her arms. [00:05:46] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, we haven't talked about that yet in character. There's lots of going on. [00:05:53] Speaker B: We all need therapy, and this is the closest we're gonna get. [00:05:58] Speaker A: That is quite literally the thesis of the show. So, yeah, yeah, a lot. Like, I think especially, like, there was a lot of stuff, like, for those if. If you haven't listened to bring your own back. Hi. You got like, a kind of tldr of a specific character show. But we did go on about a year hiatus just due to, like, health issues from RGM and just, like, general, like, life. But the stuff that we've recorded post hiatus, I feel has shaken Matcha the most. If I'm, like, real, it's shaking my character the most. But my character was in super jail. [00:06:40] Speaker B: Yeah. Which would shake anyone, I feel. But Matcha is definitely affected, I think, just. Oh, yeah. Also all that NHP stuff, which. Big spoilers. [00:06:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:07:01] Speaker B: Nita's cut. Oh, my God. I haven't used Nita proper in a long time. Nita's at a crossroads. Essentially. Most of her life has been defined by both what she can't do, as in, like, respectfully, she can't aim well. She's notoriously a terrible medic. They only put. I think we established. I don't know how explicitly, but covert operations basically put her on the sniping unit. Not because she was good at it, but because that it's such a low splash, low stakes thing that if she were even bad at it, it's okay. She's not gonna endanger lives. And knowing my roles, that happens a lot. She's also defined by kind of what other people choose for her, especially when it comes to the frames where she's having memories of the life, maybe previously, maybe implanted. We don't know where mysterious people are basically kind of like determining what makes Macha pilots. And she just happens to be okay with it. Up to the recent one being this dormant intelligence that was just lying in weight, completely made of fucking horror show. Some drones, for the. For the better of everyone. But she's feeling emotional about that, about fellow pilot Moxie's declining health. She finally thought that she could have, like, something not close with Pilar. God, if you haven't watched the show, all the names. Jesus Christ. She thought that she could be able to relate to Pilar with the whole clone thing, the whole identity thing, because Pilar was hanging out with them for a year and they barely interacted. Nope. Polar, you know, kills Elobo in Masha's arms. [00:09:09] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:09:14] Speaker B: We're really not okay, huh? [00:09:16] Speaker A: No, no, yeah. No. Our characters are going through it. They deserve a beach episode or something. [00:09:25] Speaker B: Yeah, we're getting one. But at least right now, Matcha is at the. I feel like at the brink. If that's greatness, great if despair. I don't know. It's like we're basically playing darkest dungeon. [00:09:42] Speaker A: But Max kind of at this point, which is, like, far. Like we were having a discussion in our personal, like, pod server, like, how this was supposed to be more lighthearted than the Damos Paradox, which we are. [00:09:55] Speaker B: Also Davos Paradox, about the nature of reality and life itself. [00:10:01] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. It's Truly wild. It does sound like there is again so many things. But what pushed or what is pushing Matcha to like actually seek out someone that's not part of like this main group? [00:10:19] Speaker B: I think she, if she does it, she's not doing it intentionally. I feel like Moxie. Even in her near catatonic state. Aki will agree with me on this. Even though we haven't spoken about it. Moxie probably saw Maja's distress and like told her to like go buy crystals or some shit. [00:10:45] Speaker A: Okay, yeah. That tracks amongst everything going on though. Is there something at the forefront of all this that she is like looking for answers, direction, anything for. [00:11:07] Speaker B: I think she is cons obviously concerned about her friends. She is too preoccupied, preoccupied with herself to at least know how to be a good friend. And I think that's kind of like what's tearing at her. How to be a good friend, how to like be okay. If that makes sense. [00:11:33] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Okay. So just to get a little bit better in the mindset for Matcha. Two questions coming up. You said you listened to the show, so you may already know. First one. What does Matcha believe to be a universal truth? [00:11:53] Speaker B: Oh, Jesus Christ. The is so dumb. I think no matter what, she does care about her friends. As chaotic and rambunctious and not always the great at decision making as we can be. She still cares about the group. [00:12:24] Speaker A: And in that same turn we kind of like discussed it a little bit. But what is something that has shaken what Matcha thought to be true about herself? [00:12:37] Speaker B: I think, I think what is shaken Matcha the most and something I realized the other day. Polar running away. Alobo's deaf. This is the first time we've like taken an L. Like this is the first time like we truly like not made a situation slightly better, if not like a little less exploded or something in any situation that we've arrived at. And I. She's kind of shaken about what all this could mean, especially in a universe that kind of like, you know, Oprah Wards fighting at a giant several story tall robot with laser shits and hammers that explode. I don't know. [00:13:38] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, No, I think that's a, that's fair for someone that's also like a clone coming into this world. Yeah, yeah. I'm very interested to see how this goes. [00:13:53] Speaker B: Truly it's gonna, unlike Mantra, it's gonna snipe me from so far away. [00:14:01] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Well, I did shuffle this deck quite much, so I think let's go ahead and get into this reading. Hello. And welcome back to another regular scheduled mid roll. Right. This is again mid ish roll. We're not quite through the midpoint of the episode. Maybe, maybe once I edit it down it will be. But it's usually longer and it is shorter. So it's going to be fine. Anyways, hope you're enjoying if you're not caught up with beyond our bring your own mechanism. I. Are you enjoying these spoilers? But. But when this episode drops, our. The newest episode just dropped as well. So you should go check out bring your own mech. Which part both me and I are a part of. You should also check out the music that you're hearing throughout this episode. Like it's been good, right? Like, here's another clip of it right here. Sick, right? All the music throughout the episode, also composed by Amelia. That's all in here. They make all the music for the show. Sick as hell. If you also want to check out, I know Amelia does a custom corporate corp. Corporation. I forget how Lancer calls them, but I think for your mechs. For Lancer so is. I think it's DRC company. If you go to Itch IO Bring your own mech. It'll also be. It's. It's all in the description. Go just. Just check out the description. It's Gucci. Go find it. But yeah, go check all that stuff out. This has been fun. This is gonna be really wild. Going into this reading, you'll. You'll hear why you just go. Listen, Amelia, if you would. Why don't you set the scene of where Matcha happens to find a pawn. Wherever this card reading will take place. [00:16:19] Speaker B: I think the gang is refueling. Oh Jesus, I forgot about all the names of the ship. The gang is refueling. The winter Dracula. It's some backwood, like back galaxy, almost a backwoods. Some back galaxy equivalent of like a strip mall. Just like a tiny ass like mining colony on like a long, long forsaken asteroid or something. And they just happen to have built a slightly habitable station. Millions of these mark the galaxy and none of them are particularly notable. Probably like a bar, the equivalent of a diner. A place to get fuel, obviously. And just like whatever odds and ends happen to be tucked away inside like a local strip mall. [00:17:22] Speaker A: Yeah. And I think how it is is that while you're in there, you see like neon lights catch your eye from one side of the room that weren't on a second ago. And you look over and it seems to be one like neon light showing up of cards and an arrow pointing down to a door. And that piques your interest. [00:17:54] Speaker B: Macha has her hood up because we're still technically beside. Well, three out of the four of us are wanted criminals. Has her hood up and, like, sees this and, I don't know, is a little curious about it, at least more so than, like, whatever bar or whatever diner, like, is nearby. And I think she's going to take her hood off to reveal the big, big shock of lime green, electric green hair and step inside. [00:18:31] Speaker A: Yeah, as you step inside, it's kind of like one of those automatic doors. So it opens for you, closes silently behind you. And in this room, there is. So it's. It's still LED lights, but they're still flickering in this room. And in this room initially, there just seems to be kind of like. It almost looks like an old, like, poker table that you would see in the casino. But as you step in and approach on the other side of this table, a hologram appears of, like, kind of like this faceless Android or even nhp. And like they say, well, well, welcome to Guidance. Hello. How may I help you? [00:19:14] Speaker B: You Today, I guess Matcha is going to, like, check her, like, hoodie or whatever kind of jacket that she has on. She's like, oh, I was, I was just looking around. I don't really know what this place is. I'm just. Don't mind me. [00:19:34] Speaker A: What? What, what? Well, this looks like you came to the right place. If you're not sure what's going on. This here is guidance for someone who needs it. And today is your lucky day. [00:19:50] Speaker B: I. I don't think I follow. [00:19:55] Speaker A: Please, please take a seat. And on the other side of this poker table, kind of like a stool emerges from the ground. Like a hydraulic thing pushes it out. [00:20:07] Speaker B: Matcha's gonna slowly slide to the table and she's like, this isn't one of those game gambling games that Zorro plays. Right? This is. There's no money in this, is there? I mean, I can. [00:20:23] Speaker A: No, no money today. It does use cards, however. And this hologram kind of like shakily moves and taps and like a holographic deck appears and said, these cards will help you for your future. [00:20:43] Speaker B: Oh, okay. I. I'm trying to decide if Matcha has heard of tarot before, but I feel like it's so old that it's probably, like, very new to her. [00:20:57] Speaker A: Yeah, stuff from Cradle doesn't get passed around that often, I feel. [00:21:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay. And these are. How did these do the future? [00:21:13] Speaker A: Well, and they're going to tap this poker table, which now that they tap it actually like, it changes the look. And now kind of like has like a. Just a blue background. Three cards appear on the table in front of you and they say, well, these cards here, they will help you answer questions that you have burning inside you. [00:21:40] Speaker B: Oh, oh. Matcha's gonna like go into a low whisper. Is there like instructions or like. [00:21:51] Speaker A: Well, you have burning questions that you don't even know about. And these cards here represent, some would say, the past, pointing from left to right on there, and the past, the present and the future. However, they could be viewed in many different ways. They are not direct answers, but they are keys to what door you are looking for. [00:22:22] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah, I guess count me in then. I suppose I'm on board. [00:22:30] Speaker A: Great. Do you have a burning question on your mind right now. [00:22:38] Speaker B: Matcha? Kind of like you could tell it kind of like looks inward and just ask like, am. Am I going to be okay? [00:22:54] Speaker A: Good question. Let's find out. And this hologram is going to go over to the first card it's flipped on the screen. It's never been flipped before. [00:23:04] Speaker B: It's gonna. This is gonna roast me. [00:23:06] Speaker A: I already can tell they're gonna flip over. Well, fascinating. The nine of Swords. Well, nine of swords. The nine of swords determines guilt. Anguished and worried deep inside of you. [00:23:31] Speaker B: Take it, listener. Other recording. I'm taking off my glasses, my head's in my hand. And Matcha's gonna look at the card like, how. How did. Do you. How do you know that? [00:23:50] Speaker A: I don't. I'm just an interpreter for these cards. [00:23:57] Speaker B: Matcha looks at the six of swords again. I think Matcha has a brief flashback seeing, I don't know, this wall of swords. Have a flashback to Elobo in his final moments. Lit cigar and mouth knife sticking all just all too wrong outside of his chest. And that overwhelming guilt of, you know, being able to do more in that moment. And the blood doesn't wash off easily. [00:24:38] Speaker A: Well, it seems that you are worried about being okay, but let's see what else is connected to this. This one here will shed more light about what's directly affecting your guilt or anguish. We're going to go ahead and flip over this middle card, or tap it rather, and it flips over. Well, it seems that we have pulled the queen of coins reversed. So normally when this card is face up, it does mean about being nurtured, being down to earth, trustworthy and resourceful. However, when it is reversed, it's either the lack thereof or the opposite of that. But it sounds like maybe the lack of all this trustworthiness in your life is causing you despair. [00:25:37] Speaker B: Are you kidding me? [00:25:42] Speaker A: You want to better look at this card, by the way. This is a face up Green hair. Huh? [00:25:50] Speaker B: Shut the up. How the hell. [00:25:53] Speaker A: Green hair. [00:25:55] Speaker B: Son of a. [00:25:56] Speaker A: That's wild. [00:26:00] Speaker B: Matcha's gonna. Are these physical cards or are these holograms too? [00:26:04] Speaker A: These are holograms. The images are actually showing up as they see. So the first one, you see a person standing in front of the line of swords, and you see an upside down person of someone with green hair looking down by the glowing box. [00:26:20] Speaker B: I think Matcha sees that and she's like, I never saw it that way. As images of images of Pilar, Zoro's twin sister who has betrayed the group twice now. Thought we're on a redeeming path. But Zoro's face melting away into Polar's on Sudea in the, like, drowning elevator shaft to Polar's just completely dejected face after throwing just the perfect knife into Alobo's chest and then running away off the winter Dracula. I think Matcha is kind of like, just taken aback for a second. Like, I. We. I. I thought we could help her. Thought we could be closer, I guess. But I didn't even know that was on my mind. [00:27:33] Speaker A: It seems like you have had a lot of problems, but let's see. A problem you have not noticed yet. And they're going to tap the final card to reveal justice. [00:27:55] Speaker B: Oh boy. [00:27:57] Speaker A: Well, it looks like something that is weighing even deeper than you would expect. Is responsibility, decisions, and justice within you. Seems like the cause and effect of actions are weighing down and causing you to despair. [00:28:19] Speaker B: What the universe? I hope that, like, reverbed back effect could be heard on the bike. What the actual hell? You're messaging Aki right now. Like, you're not gonna believe this. [00:28:36] Speaker A: This is some wild. [00:28:39] Speaker B: Oh my God. It's genuinely perfect. That's terrifying. Matcha sees the justice flipped. Strong person wielding a sword high above their heads. And a slight but noticeable realization kind of comes across her face of both lack of decision making and a general inability to protect. I suppose whether that's misfire, it's missed positioning, whatnot, not being there for the right person at the right time. All these things that kind of like feel out of her control that she was so focused on trying to like, kind of do whatever that she didn't. I mean, even the first arc where she's like totally. Like the very first fight where she's like, just totally fine floating off into space. The past. I forget the exact timeline, but I believe past roughly year and a half of in game time kind of like all compresses into one card and that card is justice. She's like, I, oh, I, I guess I do have a lot on my mind. I didn't. Is there other advice you could give for this? [00:30:36] Speaker A: I just, well, my interpretation is that you worrying about being okay stems from the untrustiness and the guilt you are feeling because of that. It seems that that will be either assuaged or soothed by bringing justice to yourself in whatever way that means. If this is insufficient, we could always choose another card. They tap it and the deck appears again. [00:31:08] Speaker B: No, no, no, no. I, I, I kind of want a physical copy of that card. I, I don't always do the best with memory, but I think, I don't know, there's something really special about that. But you don't have like a physical version. Like she tries to grab the card. [00:31:26] Speaker A: But the, the NHP does that, but they push down the justice and it kind of like pushes down to the table and solidifies into an actual physical card. The image now 2D in front of you. Please take it if you wish. [00:31:49] Speaker B: Maj is going to slowly pick up the card and kind of like look at it a bit closer now. She's like, I just have to bring justice to myself, even if I don't necessarily know what that means yet. [00:32:10] Speaker A: Someday you will. [00:32:15] Speaker B: Matcha kind of like is out of her typical air headed Persona. Kind of slips back into it for a moment. She's like, you haven't, you haven't watched any of Streams by Moxie, have you? You don't. This seems like awfully, awfully accurate to our situation. Currently. [00:32:39] Speaker A: Searching database. No, I am not a feminine. However, I do not know of you until this very moment. [00:32:52] Speaker B: Oh, well, I guess that makes me feel a little better. [00:32:56] Speaker A: Is there anything I could be in service of? [00:33:03] Speaker B: No, I think you've been a great help. And she kind of like slides it into some kind of breast pocket and kind of like shrugs the hoodie back on. Is about to walk out the door and she's like, you don't happen to have like crystals or something? That's kind of like the reason I realized that's the reason I'm here in the first place. [00:33:25] Speaker A: As you turn around, there's like a chime going on and it's like this has been guidance. And then the whole table just kind of like shuts down. [00:33:38] Speaker B: Okay, bye. She walks out the door and I have a Feeling I know exactly what's gonna happen. Sushi turns around. [00:33:52] Speaker A: And I think that's where we'll cut from there. Yo, what the. So not only like the dinosaurs, but like looking at this, the dinosaurs and injustice holding one of the swords above their head. Wild Queen of coins reversed. Not only that, I'm using the cyber Cyber punk fantasy deck. This bitch has green hair. [00:34:22] Speaker B: Well, it would work even better if it were. I mean, it's pretty accurate. Like the meaning of the card is accurate to this thing, but if it were face up, then it would be way more accurate to match it physically. [00:34:34] Speaker A: Yeah, well, I think you predicted it, but this was a 360, no scope from across the map. [00:34:46] Speaker B: My goal was get called out by the cards and it further my own personal agenda of making palacha slightly more canon. Reed, if you're listening to this, I'm just saying we have two people. I think we're on board. [00:35:06] Speaker A: I. Look, I think I just. We need to get Pilar to try to stop killing us. [00:35:12] Speaker B: Oh, right, yeah. That's like the big thing. Yeah, it's toxic, Yuri. [00:35:20] Speaker A: But yeah. Yeah, that's a. To me, that's a very wild reading. How do you. How much do you think Matcha is gonna hold this? [00:35:31] Speaker B: I think she's gonna hold this real close, considering that one of the things it was going to do. Spoilers for an episode that won't have come out by this. And this is just me talking to Dusty. So bleep us out or cut her whatnot. Part of the thing that she wanted to do was have a talk or even argument with Noah about, like, who is really in control. [00:35:58] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah. I never gonna. This is still. If this is not cut out, you're just getting stuff. Hello, listener. [00:36:05] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Forbidden spoilers. [00:36:07] Speaker A: No, Noah. Noah who? But yeah, this is a. These cards are wild. And this is like one of those times to like, very specifically like, this is like, like a cold on, like dead on reading. [00:36:29] Speaker B: Like, you see, like, I know that the tarot has like a tendency to like, be pretty, like, accurate, if not middling, because, you know, you are painting in broad strokes, even if those strokes are very personal. This. What the. You seem surprised. [00:36:47] Speaker A: I also, I do want to make it very clear. I even told Amelia before we start recording, I shuffled the hell out of this deck. Like, I haven't even used this deck for like, maybe like a month or two. [00:37:01] Speaker B: No, you could tell that it's not. It was shuffled because if it weren't shuffled, then the tower would have Appeared, which is my favorite card. And Dusty knows that and would be like, just like kind of like put that up to the top. [00:37:17] Speaker A: But yeah, I think this is great. And look, if whatever reason you gone through this and having this to bring your own mech, please do. This will be just even spicier once you go back. [00:37:32] Speaker B: I'm trying to get in the mind of the listener who hasn't heard of beyond, who listened to this episode is going to watch beyond after a recommendation, and it's just bombarded with butt jokes for like the first six hours. [00:37:48] Speaker A: It does. It does take a bit for us to get. Yeah, it's. The beginning of the show is very serial. I want to say cereal. [00:37:58] Speaker B: I go by a different name. [00:38:05] Speaker A: That's. That's the secret editor, Amelia. Okay, okay. The secret of your editor. But yes, I think. Do you. Do you have any other notes you. [00:38:18] Speaker B: Want to touch on for the reading specifically or just like. [00:38:22] Speaker A: Yeah, for the reading or just like, I'll. [00:38:30] Speaker B: I. I mean, I've been like, read to filth. It's like, how. How do I. How am I supposed. Like emotion. I've been emotionally bodied. Like, how the hell are you supposed to come back from that? Well, this isn't even like a hopeful one. It's just like. Well, a little bit, I guess. [00:38:46] Speaker A: A little bit. But it was like. I wouldn't say weak. I wouldn't say it was necessarily, like, harsh, though. It was real. It was like, definitely like, I. I know what you're going through and you just need someone to say it. But it's not like some of them were like, you're alone. Deal with this. So it's a nice medium. Well, I don't know how to come back from that, but I do know how we go about from this episode. Amelia, again, for people that want to see more of your work, where can people find you? [00:39:29] Speaker B: Yeah, well, since we're all migrating, or at least the TTRPG space is effectively migrating away from Twitter right now, the only one I currently have is the bring your own mech. Twitter for bring your own mech. Obviously, I will be probably getting a personal one up, but you don't need to worry about that one. Right now in the net editor to editor high dusty editing room floor. I essentially only have the Blue sky account for bring your own mech. [00:40:05] Speaker A: Beautiful. Well, definitely check out. Bring your own mech. Check out just like the awesome music that's in the episode. I know at this point future Dustin has already talked about Amelia's music in the middle role so you can go check it out there. But that is it for now. Thank you for joining us. This has been Interrogation and remember, guidance always finds you, whether you like it or not. [00:40:35] Speaker B: Bye. [00:40:37] Speaker A: Goblets and Gaze presents Interrogation.
